Painting Vegetation: Grass, Moss, Trees, Fields & Bushes

It’s still very cold up here in the Nordics. What better way to use this time than to study how snow looks like and how we can paint it?

In this tutorial, we’re going to learn how to sail a ship. Or… No, we’re going to learn how to paint water. Yes! Water. Lakes, rivers, waterfalls, ocean, and so on. These techniques are mostly used for environment paintings.

There is one technique I love using when practicing environment concept art, and I use it a lot to come up with great ideas when clients give me their brief with description of the pieces they want to have for their game, movie or various projects.

In the last tutorial, we looked at painting vegetation (grass, forests, fields, moss, etc), and I’ve gotten a lot of good comments and feedback on what you’d like to learn more.
